Uranus (The Big Blue Planet)
Hello were going to talk about Uranus. Do not laugh at it's (cough cough) weird name. OK anyway were going to talk about Uranus. Wait I already said that. (sighs) Let's just move on.
When it Was discovered
When exactly was Uranus discovered Science Cat? Science Cat: Well Sciencemeap Uranus was discovered in 1781 on March 13th. Sciencetific Meap: Hey a day after my birthday! Science Cat: Get out! Anyway before we were interrupted I was telling you about Uranus. Where did it get it's name Sciencemeap? Sciencemeap: Well Uranus got its name from the Greek god of the sky. He is also the father of Saturn and the grandfather of Jupiter. Well we should move on.
Rings
Yes Uranus has rings and not many people know that. Uranus's rings are faint and there is only 13 of them. In the sky there is a blinking in the sky. The blinking is Uranus's rings reflecting the starlight off of them. The first five rings were named Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and Epsilon. Some of the larger rings are lined with an outer layer of dust. Shall we.
Moons
Uranus has about 27 moons orbiting it. One of the largest moons is Titania. Titania is the eighth largest moon in the solar system. It's distance from Earth is 1,692,000,000 miles. it takes 209 hours to orbit Uranus. Science Cat: Well duh what else would it orbit the sun? Sciencemeap: Get out of here Science Cat. Science Cat: Fine. Sciencemeap: Anyway we should move on.
Axis
Well Uranus is tipped on it's sid ewhy excatly? Well some people think a big object during the transforming of the solar system hit into Uranus. Most planets ar not tipped on it's side. If we were tipped on our side then i don't know. Most planets are not like Uranus because of that. Uranus is really unique in a way. Let's move on.
