Best Friend Forever!

Best Friends For Life!

I'm sorry I haven't been posting much, but here's another blog! This blog is going to be about best friends. Mostly about my best friend and I. My best friend name is Molly/ Molly's blog. Molly is one of my very best friends so... Let's start!

How We Met

Molly and I meet on the first day of kindergarten. I was playing with the dinosaurs and Molly wanted to play to, so she came over. We started talking and became best friends. Molly: What a touching story...( clap...clap...clap). Alex: Anyway.. We would go on the swings and talk and do a lot of stuff together. So yeah on to the next majestic story of awesomeness.

Growing Up

Molly and I grew up, but we never grew apart. When I did something Molly did it to, when she did something I did it with her.  Molly grew and I grew we would always be head to head in height but I came out first. We were in 5th grade and there were 22 people in the grade. Every time at recess we would get our three other friends and chat on the swings. We would talk about boys and some other things. That's all I can tell you right now. let's go

7th Grade

Here we are the 7th grade and we have never moved apart. Molly and I grew together having parties, sleepovers, and more. 7th grade only consists of 6 people. Three of them are my friends. There's Molly(  who I have been talking about this whole time), Mari, And Stephanie. 8th grade is all boys and they are all stupid. Let's go to the next paragraph.

Molly

Molly's hair is to her thighs and she has a mix of all different types of blonde hair. Molly's 5/6 in a 1/2 and I'm 5/8. Molly like really cute things. Molly likes the kind of music that's popular and me I like those kind of songs but I like muse, Two Door Cinema Club, and U2. Molly and I might have things different but we have things in common to.

  Well bye that's my blog!

Water Cycle
Hello my friends! Today we are going to talk about... The Water Cycle! I have a special guest today her name is Scientific Meap. Hi Scientific Meap can you help me with the amazing water cycle. Yes I will because I am amazing. OK well let's just move on.

How it works

Some people ask me how does the water cycle work? Well Scientific Meap is going to tell you. The water cycle is not that complicated. First it starts in a river, lake, or ocean that's called collection. Then the sun heats up the water and turns it to water vapor. It's also invisible.  Don't interrupt me. That's called evaporation.  Next the water cools down and turns back into water droplets and turn into clouds. That's called condensation.  Then when the clouds get to heavy it rains that's called precipitation. That's how it work, but those are the things that people know about. There are also some minor things like runoff and infiltration.

runoff- occurs when soil is infiltrated to full capacity.
infiltration- water that soaks into the ground and stays there.

Those are all the minor things

alike

How exactly is climate and weather patterns alike to the water cycle?  Well the water cycle is a major factor in both weather and climate. The water cycle is both the most dominant  and more complex.  Climate change is also dominated by the water cycle not carbon dioxide.  The water cycle contains enormous energy flows that shape Earth’s climate.  Well that's all for to day! hope you liked my blog.

Non/Renewable
Resources

Hello everyone! Today we are going to talk about non/renewable resources. Well let's go on and see what we are going to talk about.

Natural Resources

What does people mean by natural resources exactly? Well it means to occur naturally within  environments and humans do not disturb it in it's natural form. What is the differences between nonrenewable and renewable? Well nonrenewable is you will run out of it soon you can't  just use it over and over like renewable you can use it over and over and never run out of it. Here are some examples of nonrenewable and renewable...

nonrenewable

1. Coal
2. Oil
3. Fossil Fuels

renewable

1.sunlight
2.wind
3. water

Those are some examples of nonrenewable resources and renewable resources. Well we should move on to somethings.

 Fossil Fuels

Some people ask me what are fossil fuels exactly?  Well they are natural fuel.  Fossil fuels are nonrenewable resources because we just can't use them over and over again and never run out we are going to run out of them soon. That's why they are considered as nonrenewable resources.  Did you know that nonrenewable resources are used more than renewable resources. Well that's because nonrenewable resources give more energy than from renewable resources. Well let's go to a diffrent subject.

 Advantages and Disadvantages

Some people think that wind, hydroelectric, and solar energy are perfect but there are some disadvantages in those as well as advantages here are some of those things.

Advantages

Hydroelectric
1.  Hydroelectric power can be created 24/7
2. It is also another absolutely clean source of energy

 Wind

1. The wind is free and with modern technology it can be captured efficiently.
2. The wind energy is also clean

Solar
1. Solar energy is free
2. Solar energy does not cause pollution

Disadvantages

Hydroelectric

1.Like all power plants, hydroelectric plants are very expensive to build.
 2. The creation of a dam in one location may mean that those down river no longer have control of water flow.

Wind
1.people think wind turbines are tacky
2.even the largest single turbine can only power about 475 homes not a whole city.

Solar

1. You can only harness sun energy during the day time.
2. Even today's most efficient solar cells only convert just over 20% of the suns rays to electricity.

Those are advantages and disadvantages of all of those.

 Conservation

What is conservation?  Conservation means saving things from loss or waste. Why is conservation important? Conservation is important because it allows us to save things that can be used when when need them. turning off the lights so it can conserve electricity you can do multiple things.

Well that was the end of my blog bye everyone hope you liked it! :) :) :) :)

The Moon

Hi guys were going to talk about the moon agian.

The Myth

Right now we are going to talk about one of the myths about the moon. One is "So wolves howl at the Full moon?"  No, sure they howl but this has nothing to do with a Full moon. Wolves are usually next to a full moon but they are really howling to find other wolves because they found food or something else. The howling has nothing to do with a full moon.

phases

some people ask me "does the moon go through phases?" This is going to answer their question. The moon does go through phases. There are 10 phases in all. Here are all the phases the moon goes through.

- new moon
-waxing crescent
- 1st quarter
- waxing gibbous
- full moon
- 3rd quarter
- waning gibbous
- waning  crescent
Then all over again

The moon takes about 27.3 days to orbit around the earth which is nearly a month.

 Eclipse

Why don't we get eclipses daily? Well the reason we don't get eclipses daily is because of the way the moon and the earth orbits. If the earth did not orbit the sun then we would always have eclipses daily.  The reason we don't is because the moon goes below and above the earth. So when we have an eclipse it will be at least a decade from now. Let's move on now.

  Light versus dark

One side of the moon is light and the other is dark. So we only see one side of the moon and we never see the dark side. Like I said before the moon has phases. The moons light side changes through its orbit. The moon is not always 100% light all the time. The moon is always light by the sun. Now that we know all of that we can move on.

  Definition time!

New moon-when we can't see the moon because the moon is dark and it's back is to us
Waxing crescent- the 1st phases we can see
Waxing gibbous- more than half or first quarter
1st quarter- half
Full moon- 100% of the moon is showing
Waning gibbous - getting lesser
3rd quarter- after the waning gibbous
Waning crescent - the last phase
Waning gibbous phases- getting lesser going to the new moon
Lunar month- the moon is going through the phases.

The Moon

Hi I'm back! Today we are going to talk about the moon and why it is so amazing.

Bright Object

Right now I'm here with Emma The Meap! OK so Emma The Meap on my blog people have been asking me "Why is the moon so Bright?" Well Emma The Meap can you answer that please?  Emma The Meap: Sure. Well the moon is so bright because the sun's light reflects off of the moon ( at night) onto the Earth. The moon does not make it's own light. Science Meap: Well now that we know that we should probably move on.

Circle

Some people ask me "why doesn't the moon always appear a perfect circle all the time?" Well I have ScientificMeap here with me so she will tell you why. ScientificMeap: Well the reason the moon doesn't appear a perfect circle all the time is because the sun hits the moon on different angles. The sun doesn't hit the moon on the same spot all the time. That's one reason the moon goes through phases. Science Meap: OK well were going to talk about something else.

Moon

How many days does it take for the moon to completely orbit the moon? Well it take 27.3 days for the moon to orbit completely. It takes 8 days for the moon to go to a full moon to the 2nd full moon and the passage of time is called the moon cycle. So we are going to move on and go to another subject.

Surface

What does the moon look like exactly. The moon has highlands and dark spots. The dark spot consits 20% of the moon.  The moons surface has craters that may of had seas a long time ago and is also very rocky.  The moon has no atmosphere and meteors can just crash right into the moon. So we are going to move on now.

Interesting Facts

  1. Neil Armstrong was the first man on the moon
  2. Apollo 15 was the first mission to use a lunar rover
  3. In China, the dark shadows that are on the moon are called "the toad in the moon".

Those are some facts on the moon.
